Description
These cloves are grown in what once were the private spice gardens of the first Sultan Seyyid Said, but the area has now been split up between multiple smallhold farmers.
The clove trees have been growing on this land between cinnamon and tropical fruit trees for centuries and are considered by many to be the best in the world. They are picked right before the buds open to flower to maximise their flavour and precious oil content before being dried in the tropical Zanzibari sun.
All of this results in super sweet cloves packed with flavour and we are sure you won’t be disappointed. Simmer them in a stew, add them to some marmalade or do as the Zanzibaris do: chew them as a snack!
My ten year old cloves were not too bad but these smell and taste perfect
