Turmeric Latte – An Easy Recipe You’ll Love
Turmeric Latte? Never heard of it until just a few years ago! And If you’re anything like me, you may not have always been too keen on using turmeric in your cooking. That’s right… This spice lady was not keen on using a certain spice!
However, once I learned the value of adding turmeric into my cooking such as, how it reduces inflammation, helps with digestion and lowers cholesterol, I knew I had to find a good way to start incorporating it into my meals in an easy and tasty way!
While doing my research on different turmeric related recipes, it was the golden milk/turmeric latte recipe that stopped me in my tracks. As many of you might know, I am an avid chai drinker (heck a big part of Ujamaa Spice is also developing chai recipes). And speaking of, have you tried our Bibi’s Chai yet? For those of you that do not know, we have also added a Lemongrass Chai and Mulled Hibiscus Tea to our line as well. So check them out!
So, as a chai drinker, I knew I had to give the turmeric latte a try. Therefore, I set out to create the perfect Turmeric Latte, using the right balance of our single origin spices.
After months of trial and error, I feel that I have finally created the perfect spice blend of our Turmeric Latte, which is now also available for you to purchase! The best part about this is that the recipe is completely vegan, easy to make and I think once you try this, you’ll never buy another coffee shop turmeric latte again!
Plus made sure to do all the annoying nitty gritty maths and calculations of the spice amounts so that you won’t have to! Now, you have a perfect amount of Turmeric Spice Blend, that you can easily use to make your latte at home in a matter of minutes! It is filled with nutritional goodness, made from the freshest and ethically sourced single origin spices from Zanzibar and if you purchase from us, you will also be supporting smallhold farmers in Zanzibar that grew your spices. We also think it makes for a thoughtful and great tasting gift for your fellow turmeric latte drinkers.
So turmeric? What’s so special about it? Well turmeric is actually a flowering plant that comes from the root of the Curcuma longa plant from the ginger family. According to many high quality studies, curcumin which is an active ingredient in turmeric responsible for its golden colour, is thought to have many major benefits for your body and brain such as anti- inflammatory, antioxidants and healing properties. This also includes boosting any brain-derived neurotrophic factor, lowering risks of heart disease and treating arthritis and Alzheimer’s.
Did you know, we also add a bit of our Kidichi Black Pepper into our recipe? Studies show that black pepper has a compound in it called piperine which helps to absorb the curcumin from turmeric up to 1000 times better! So, even more health benefits for you!
Let’s now get to the important bit! how to make the perfect cup of turmeric latte!
It’s very easy actually if you’re using our blend. All you have to do is:
