This is the bread and butter of the Usambara Tea Estate and what Tanzanian is known for the most. The leaves are harvested and then crushed, teared and curled into tiny balls. This tea is very robust with notes of Malt & Honey with a rich mouthfeel. It is the tea that forms the backbone of our Ujamaa’s Chai blends but we want to give you the chance to try it on its own.

Our Tanzanian teas are grown deep in the Usambara mountains, located at the Herkulu estate in north east Tanzania. This region has been pioneering organic tea farming and growing it for many decades.
