Description

Zanzibar cloves are intensely aromatic with a subtle natural sweetness. These single origin cloves are grown organically by our partner smallholder farmers, delivering rich flavour and exceptional quality.

Zanzibar Cloves from Kidichi Cooperative

These Zanzibar cloves are grown in what were once the private spice gardens of Sultan Seyyid Said, now cultivated by a community of smallholder farmers in Kidichi.

For centuries, clove trees have thrived on this land alongside cinnamon and tropical fruit trees, producing cloves widely regarded as some of the finest in the world. The buds are carefully harvested just before flowering to maximise their flavour and natural oil content, then gently sun-dried in the tropical Zanzibari climate.

The result is a naturally sweet, intensely aromatic clove with exceptional depth of flavour. Perfect for stews, baking and preserves, or enjoyed the traditional Zanzibari way by simply chewing them as a fragrant, warming snack.

The complex flavour notes of this product include:
Sugarcane - Pine - Menthol
