Zanzibar Chai Blend

Price range: £19.95 through £24.95

Description

Our Zanzibar chai blend, also known as chai tea or chai latte, is inspired by Bibi’s traditional recipe. It is made with organic black tea grown in the mountains of Tanzania, home to some of the country’s last remaining rainforest.

This tea is carefully blended with fresh, fragrant organic spices sourced from our partner farms in Zanzibar, creating a rich, aromatic chai full of warmth and depth.

Zanzibar Chai Blend | Traditional Spiced Tea

In Zanzibari households, dinner is often referred to as “chai.” While food varies from day to day, one constant remains on nearly every table: tea.

Chai is more than just a drink. It brings people together, creating a sense of community and belonging. The way it is prepared often reflects family traditions, heritage and identity.

This blend is inspired by my grandmother’s recipe. Her name was Nuru, though we all called her Habibti, meaning “loved one” in Arabic. This chai carries the same warmth and comfort that has been shared across generations in our family.

The spices in this Zanzibar chai blend are sourced from our partner smallholder farmer cooperatives across the island. The black tea is grown in the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania, where it has been cultivated organically for decades.

We hope this cup of Zanzibar chai brings you the same sense of comfort, connection and joy.

The complex flavour notes of this product include:
Floral - Rich - Soothing

Our spices come from small villages and subsistence farmers. With us you won’t find any large scale, orderly rows of monoculture spice plants. Instead, you will find our spices growing between the banana and jackfruit trees which the farmers use to feed themselves and their families.
