Zanzibar Ceylon Cinnamon Quills

£6.50

Description

These Zanzibar ceylon cinnamon quills come from Mitakawani village, grown by Zuhura, who took over the farm after her father lost his sight. Producing cinnamon quills is highly labour-intensive, which is why most farmers in the village focus on other crops. For Ujamaa Spice, however, a small, limited batch has been carefully crafted.

Made from slightly older trees, these quills offer a naturally sweet, clean and highly concentrated flavour, with a delicate aroma that sets them apart from standard cinnamon.

Comes in a 50g home compostable pack.

A rare, small-batch spice you will truly love.

Zanzibar Ceylon Cinnamon Quills

These Ceylon cinnamon quills from Zanzibar are grown in Mitakawani village by Zuhura, who took over the farm after her father lost his sight. While most farmers in the region focus on other crops, cinnamon quills are rarely produced due to the intensive labour involved. For Ujamaa Spice, however, a limited batch has been carefully crafted.

Made from slightly older cinnamon trees, these quills offer a naturally sweet, clean and highly concentrated flavour, far superior to standard cinnamon. Their delicate layers and rich aroma make them perfect for both cooking and infusions.

Ideal for the colder months, these cinnamon quills bring warmth and depth to teas, desserts and savoury dishes.

A rare, small-batch spice you will truly love.

Who grew our
Zanzibar Ceylon Cinnamon Quills?
Zuhura
Mitakawani, Zanzibar
Right in the middle of the Southern island of Unguja lies the small village of Mitakawani. Far removed from any lucrative tourist spots, villagers are completely reliant on spice farming. Since most of the people here only have small plots of land, they tend to mix their relatively small harvests together and share the profits.
